How Are Perogies Prepared?
To prepare this dish, you’ll be needing flour, salt, 1 egg (beaten), cold water, bacon, baking potatoes, 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese, salt and pepper to taste, sauerkraut (rinsed and minced), and sour cream.
Firstly, you have to make the dough. To do this, in a medium-sized bowl, add the flour, salt, egg, and water and mix all together to make the dough. After doing this, cover up the bowl and set the mixture aside.
Secondly, you need to make the potato filling. Place the potatoes in a pot and boil for about 25 minutes until tender. When it is soft enough, set it down and mash the potatoes.
Place the bacon in a deep skillet, cook until it is evenly brown, and then drain and stir. You can now add cheese, pepper, and salts to it.
To make the sauerkraut filling, still, place bacon in a deep skillet and cook until it is evenly brown. After that, drain, crumble and place in a bowl. Stir this mixture in the sauerkraut, add the sour cream and mix well.
Roll the dough on a floured surface and cut out the dough using a round container. Place a spoonful of potato fillings and sauerkraut fillings in each cut dough and fold into two to form a semi-circle. you can pinch the edges or use a fork to pinch the edges together to seal.
After this is done, bring a pot of water, add a little salt, and set to boil. Place the pierogies in the boiling water until they float, or you can cook for about 4 to 5 minutes.
What To Serve with Perogies?
One amazing feature of perogies is that you can serve them with various dishes. Some of these dishes include:
1. Steamed Veggie
you can prepare these veggies with two tablespoons of butter, a clove of garlic, a teaspoon of grated lime, a teaspoon of finely chopped serrano, half teaspoon of salt, lime juice, and fresh vegetables.

Put a pot of water of about four cups to boil and then allow to boil for about ten minutes before adding the fresh vegetable and allow to boil until tender. You can now mix with your butter mixture and then serve.

Sour cream is a fermented fresh cream that tastes sour and is mostly used for toppings. Ingredients needed to make this cream includes milk, fresh lemon juice, and cream. You’d also be needing a clean jar to store the mixture in.
For this recipe, mix all ingredients and store them in a clean jar and can be used subsequent times. Before using each time, make sure you stir the mixture.
3. Roasted Cherry Tomatoes
These also are quite easy to prepare. For this recipe, you’ll be needing tomatoes, garlic, fresh herbs, garlic oil, and salt and pepper to taste.
Mix all your ingredients in a bowl after preheating your oven to about 400 degrees. When the oven gets hot enough, place the layer on a large sheet and roast for about 25 minutes; then, your roasted cherry tomatoes are ready.
This side topping, like most side toppings, is easy to prepare. To prepare, start by chopping the cranberries into small pieces (do not blend them).
After chopping, you can also add your orange and apple, and when this is done, mix the fruits and add sugar. This simple perogy side dish is then ready to be served.

These vegetables listed taste so good together, and a combination of these three gives the perfect combination of colors and even flavors.
You can chop this vegetable and serve it with a drizzle of maple syrup. Please put it in the oven for a crispy taste before serving with your perogies.
You can add nachos as a side dish to give your perogies that Mexican twist. Deep fry your dumplings until they get crisp, and then load it on your perogies with your favorite nacho toppings like tomatoes, jalapenos, cheese, or beans.
